The Apollos started out slow having a hard time fielding the same team consistantly but the Apollos got in together in April and May winning 10 straight games. Including going 5-0 in the New Orleans tournament. The Apollos went through the double elimination tournment in the Houston City League without losing a game with Quinones pitching and an offense lead by Chris Gibson, Andrew Dunn, Clifton Siems and Mo Caesar the Apollos found the winning combination.

The Apollos defense was average - for every error in the field, the Apollos came back with a double play to compensate. On offense, the Apollos scored 3 in the first inning with a single from Dunn who was knocked in by a single from Clifton. Then Bob hit an absolute bomb earning 2 RBIs. In the third, Gibson singled and was knocked in by a double from Marcos. Josh Wilson got on in the seventh, stole second and scored on a passed ball to break the 4-4 tie. Then the Apollos scored one more insurance run in the eighth when Hall got on first, Donald walked, Hall stole third and scored on a sacrifice fly from Wilson. The game was a good team effort.
Game 11
Apollos 8 Raiders 7. The Apollos had to fight hard to win this game. Brian Volante threw 6 great innings and was relieved by Chris Gibson. Every Apollo batter got a hit and the whole team contributed. The game was tied for several innings. There were two outs when Dunn walked, Gibson singled, and Marcos hit a shot to center that knocked in Dunn to win the game.
Game 10
Apollos 9 Raiders 8. The Apollos used their deep pitching staff with Gibson, Thompson, Siems, Quinones, and Dutka throwing well to keep all the guys fresh for the playoffs this weekend. The Apollos helped out the Raiders by giving them two guys so they could field a team. The Apollos started the first inning with 5 runs with singles from Dunn and Hall a triple from Gibson. Game 5
Apollos beat Hurricanes 7-3, the Apollos scored all runs in the 4th inning on 5 walks and 3 errors. Brian Volante came in and threw well out of relief for the win.
Scrimmage Game
Apollos beat Rough Riders 14-7. The Apollos had a fun time with this game. All the Apollos scored a run in the game. The team switched up some positions, and the Apollos saw some good pitching from Chris Gibson, Andrew Dunn, Greg Nichols, and David Trahan.
Game 4
Mudcats beat Apollos 15-5.
Alex Dutka threw very well. The Apollos defensively made 8 errors. The hitting was ok not great, the Mudcats made several big defensive plays.
Game 3
Apollos beat Bobcats 11-3.
The Apollos welcomed the return of Chris Gibson and Eric Morales's bats to the lineup. Each had three hits and Gibson homered. We are glad to have Chris after wrist surgery. Mo Caesar had three hits. Alex Dutka was dominant on mound for another win. Josh Wilson played excellent middle infield.
Game 2 Apollos beat Metro Astros 12-9.
This was another tough battle for the Apollos against a competitive Astros squad. The game started with Brian Volante pitching to one batter and leaving the game with shoulder pain. Chris Gibson took over and threw four innings. JT took over in the fifth and threw a couple scoreless innings, and he was relieved by Alex Dutka closing the game. JT gets a win and Alex gets a save. On offense, the Apollos had plenty of activity. Dunn singled, doubled and tripled and scored four runs. AJ had two singles and remarkably caught the final out of the game when Dunn got nervous and baubled a routine fly ball. Mo was solid with 3 singles and RBIs. Alex singled and got on base four out of five times. He better stick to pitching and not playing first base. Andrew doubled and made some good plays at second base. It was good to have Murphy back at shortstop and he also got a nice single. Eric made some great plays at third base and had a single and a run. Donald caught the game and had a nice single and a run. Brian hit two singles and scored two runs. Overall, it was a great team effort. Way to go Apollos.
Game 1 Raiders beat Apollos 6-2.
The Apollos defeated themselves in this game. The first inning started out great with Dunn, the leadoff hitter, hitting a homerun. Then Hall singled and scored on a double from Mo Caesar. The offense for the rest of the game was nothing to mention. On the defense side of the game, Alex Dutka pitched 6 innings striking out 9 guys. The errors leading to unearned runs killed the Apollos with 4 unearned runs scoring in the sixth inning. Jason Thompson threw the last two innings striking out four guys.
Scrimmage Game 1
Apollos beat Raiders 11-1. Early in the game the Apollos played very poor defense. The Raiders appeared to be have a tryout as 25 people showed up and it was their first game. Their pitchers didn't throw strikes. Bob, Hall and Mo all reached base all 4 times. Drew and Brian threw strikes and threw very well
