Hays Larks 8 Houston Apollos 4. The Larks took a 3 run lead in the bottom of the third... In the top of the 4th the Apollos scored 4 runs but let Hays escape the inning by Andrew Dunn lining into a double play. Hays came back with a two run homer and a three run homer leaving the game at 8-4. The Apollos had the bases loaded with two outs in the 6th when Travis Turner hit a shot that was caught at the warning track. Jon Scudder pitched 6 innings and allowed 7 runs. Jarrett Ledger pitched 3 innings and allowed one run. For the Hays Larks offense was single handedly led by Nolan Reimold he hit two Home Runs and a two run rbi double to have 5 rbi's. Clifton Siems went 4-5.See box score
Game 3 August 7 2:00 PM Word of Life Field
Houston Apollos 4 Fort Collins Colorado Triple Play 2 Mike Estrada's 5th inning two run homer was the difference in this game. The Apollos took a 1-0 lead in the first with a run by Andrew Dunn on a muffed throw trying to throw out a stealing Mike Estrada. They would score 3 more in the 5th, the first was also on a muffed throw trying to throw out Andrew Dunn stealing, scoring Noe Mosqueda. The other 2 runs came on Mike Estrada's homer. The Apollos would be held scoreless the rest of the game. Alex Dutka pitched 5 shutout innings before allowing two runs in the 6th. Sonny Terrazas came on to pitch the final three innings now allowing a run and escaping an 8th inning bases loaded jam.

Will Goodwin pitched 6 innings allowing just one run and Chris Codell pitched three innings allowing 0 runs as the Apollos played solid defense to beat the Diamond Spirit. Andrew Dunn, Isa Garcia and Clifton Siems all scored 2 runs. The Apollos stole 5 bases as a team and played solid defense. The Diamond Spirit left 10 runners on base. See box score and write up

Oklahoma City Braves 5 Houston Apollos 2
The Apollos got off to a great start in their first ever game in the NBC World Series. They took a 2-0 lead into the seventh inning. Andrew Dunn scored on a wild throw after stealing third base, Dunn scored again when Isa Garcia doubled in the gap...In the seventh the Oklahoma City Braves bats finally woke up and Sonny Terrazas lost his shutout and gave up three runs in the process. Oklahoma City escaped many jams as the Apollos left 11 men on base and hit into two double plays. The Apollos made only one error..

Houston Apollos 6 Houston Raiders 4
Sonny Terrazas pitched the entire game fighting through tough situations in 4 innings. The Raiders took a two run lead into the first and almost broke the game open but Mike Wilson made an unbelievable catch to only allow two runs. Wilson would score a run in the second to make the score 2-1. Then the Apollos would break the game open with a three run 4th inning. Derek David walked, Mike Wilson walked, Reggie Veal singled to load the bases, Mike Estrada and Clifton Siems each singled. making the score 4-2. The Raiders bounced back and tied the game on an Apollo error at the plate. In the sixth off the Raiders Ace, Mike Estrada reached on an error and scored on Clifton Siems double, Siems would score on Mason Romero's pinch hit double which would seal the game. Terrazas only struck out 4 and used his defense... Sonny Terrazas was also named tournament MVP.

Jon Scudder pitched a complete game six inning shutout, he struck out 6 and used his defense to hold a shutout. Offensively the Apollos broke the game open with a 6 run 2nd inning. Mike Wilson went 3-4 every Apollo produced.

Russell Revere pitched a great game going the distance and limiting the Wildcats to 2 runs. The Apollo defense played great and the hitting was lead by Derek David, Mike Estrada, Reggie Veal and Isa Garcia.

The Apollos managed to hold onto a real close game. Abe Garcia single handedly won this one by hitting two home runs. Alex Dutka pitched 5 innings allowing two runs. Sonny Terrazas came on for the save getting a double play in the 6th and striking out two in the 7th. Donald Kemmerling got strong hits as well.

Houston Apollos 7 Gulf Coast Gators 4
Derek David's grand slam lead a six run inning that would be more than enough. Sonny Terrazas didn't allow an earned run, Reggie Veal misplayed a ball in centerfield that went for a three run inside the park homer. Mike Estrada got two quality hits including a no out triple stole and base.

Houston Raiders 3 Houston Apollos 0
The Raiders pitcher was probably the best the Apollos had ever faced. He struck out 12 batters in 7 innings and only allowed two hits. The Apollos managed to stay in the game and had the tying run at the plate with one out in the bottom of the seventh. Jason Ryan held the Raiders to 3 unearned runs, the Apollos spoted the Raiders 2 in the first on errors, but got out of bases loaded jams continously. The only chance the Apollos had offensively was Abe Garcia drive down the line which landed three feet foul.
Houston Apollos 3 Texas Rebels 0
Jon Scudder pitched 6 innings of shutout ball dominating Rebel hitters and breaking many bats. Derek David pitched the final inning getting three up three down to preserve the day long shut out. Derek David singled and scored on a fielders choice to give the Apollos a 1-0 lead.
Isa Garcia's rbi double drove in Andrew Dunn and Isa would score. Reggie Veal had an excellent day reaching base, the Apollos played good defense and made it through the day without allowing a run.
Houston Apollos 5 Texas Rebels 0
Isa Garcia's three run homer provided the offense along with Taylor Henckel's solo home run gave the Apollos a 4 run lead. Taylor Henckel also started the game on the mound and pitched two scoreless innings. Marcos Quinones pitched two scoreless inning and Andrew Dunn pitched three scoreless innings, The Apollos made several fine double plays by Mason Romero and Isa Garcia.
Houston Apollos 6 Houston Wolves 3
In the second game of doubleheader the Apollos were tied 1-1 going into the 5th. The game was broken open with two swings of Isa Garcia's bat.
He hit a three run homer and a two run double in at bats in the 5th inning both scoring his brother Abe Garcia. He drove in 5 runs and left the score 6-1. The Apollos gave up two runs in the top of the seventh but got 2 1/3 great innings from Chris Gibson allowing 1 run on a homer and 4 2/3 great innings from Derek David
who picked up the win...
Houston Wolves 6 Apollos 3 This game was a disaster from the beginning for the Apollos as the umpires didn't show up on time. So play had to begin with the Wolves coach calling balls and strikes. His zone might have been biased and the Apollos fell in a quick 2-0 hole. The Apollos bounced back and tied the game at 2-2, The Apollos rallied again to tie the score at 3-3. The Wolves broke the game open in the seventh with a bases loaded double. The Apollos received the worst pitching performance from Sonny Terrazas in his three years with the team as he walked 10 and gave up 7 hits. Somehow he left the game with the bases loaded and the score 4-3 and two outs. However the next batter doubled off Marcos Quinones to seal the game for the Wolves.
Offensively Marcos Quinones had three hits and Will Wade walked three times, Derek David also reached three times.
Apollos 7 Gulf Coast Gators 0
Since the Gators made the drive over to the Houston area both teams+ agreed to play a double header. Abe Garcia and Andrew Dunn reached base three times and each scored two runs. Derek David looked excellent in his Apollo debut hitting a three homer and playing great defense including making a great play to save the shutout as the Gators attempted to steal home to score a run. Sonny Terrazas threw two innings allowing one base runner. Jon Scudder threw three innings and only allowed one base runner.
Apollos 10 Gulf Coast Gators 0
Marcos Quinones threw a 5 inning no hitter against the Gators allowing just one walk and one batter to reach on an error. The Apollos scored 8 runs in the 4th-5th innings to secure the run rule. All players reached base and all scored runs except for Phaff.
Lumberton Dogg 6 Apollos 1 In between games there was a fight in the Lumberton dugout that stirred up their bats. They sent two players home but assured the Apollos they would be ready. Ready they were, Clay Bucholtz pitched the 2nd game after playing SS in the first and was dominant. He was one of the best arms the Apollos have run across. The Apollos bats were dead and Andrew Dunn scored the only run on Clifton Siems double. Bob Phaff hit several balls deep that were caught by outfielders and the Apollos got didn't come through in RBI situations. Pitching was inconsistant, although Jon Scudder struck out 11 batters in 4-2/3 innings, he surrendered 5 runs he only walked 3 and showed major improvements. Josh Rich again pitched well allowing one run in the final 2-1/3 inning.
Apollos 12 Lumberton Dogg 1 The Apollos first 8 hitters scored in the bottom of the first and the game was never close. The Apollos had 5 singles and 6 walks and scored 10 runs in the bottom of the first. All nine hitters reach baseed at least once. Sonny Terrazas pitched the first two innnings but was removed with the huge lead no runs allowed. He struck out 3 and walked 3. Chris Gibson threw two innings striking out 2 and allowed a run when a Lumberton baserunner stole home trailing 12-0. Clifton Siems pitched a scoreless fifth for the rule run.
Apollos 11 Baytown Knights 1 The Apollos blew the game open in the bottom of the first. Marcos Quinones threw 5 innings allowing 1 run. Eli pitched the final inning allowing no runners. Clifton Siems had three hits and scored three runs. Abe Garcia had three walks. Bob Phaff had two hits including a bases clearing double.
Apollos 12 Baytown Knights 5 The Apollos came back after being in a 5-1 hole early. Jon Scudder started the game but only went threw innings and left the game due to wildness. Josh Rich came in and threw 3 shutout innings for the win. Mason Romero and Andrew Dunn scored 3 runs each. Abe Garcia walked 4 times. The clear difference in the game was the Knights pitching walked 14 Apollo batters in 6 innings.
Apollos 6 Raiders 2 The Apollos survived several key jams and only allowed two runs in the first inning. Sonny Terrazas threw 4 innings allowing two runs. Mike Wilson pitched the final two innings for the save. Offensively Marcos Quinones had three hits and 3 RBI's and scored a run. Andrew Dunn had two runs and Abe Garcia had a key RBI double.
Apollos 5 Raiders 2 The was a pitchers dual Jason Ryan threw 5 shutout innings and left with a 2-0 lead. Chris Gibson threw the final two innings allowing only two runs. Reggie Veal and Clifton Siems hustled in the first two runs on stolen bases and passed balls. The Apollos added three insurance runs off a Raiders reliever.
Apollos 15 Houston Wildcats 5 The Apollos scored 5 runs in the first inning on Clifton Siems Grand Slam, The Apollos also scored 3 runs in the 2nd and 4 runs in the 5th. The game was called after a 10 run rule. Abe Garcia had three hits, Noe had two hits and Mike Estrada had two hits.. Jon Scudder started the game and looked strong throwing 4 innings allowing 3 runs and striking out 7. Jake Medlen pitched the last inning allowing two runs. Sonny Terrrazas reached base all four times and Mason walked three times.
Apollos 6 Houston Wildcats 2 This was the Apollos opening game, the game had to be moved to Klein Oak High School due at game time because of field conditions... Mike Wilson, Andrew Dunn and Mike Estrada had two hits. Marcos Quinones pitched 5 innings striking our 5 and walking 5 allowing 2 runs. Sonny Terrazas threw the last two innings striking out 4 looking very nice. The Apollos got great defense from Mike Estrada and Mason Romero up the middl
