Apollos 13 River Bandits 5
The Apollos won the City League Championship! It was a great game with Alex on the mound striking out 7 in 5 innings. Highlights were Mike Wilson's record three home runs and Andrew Dunn's grand slam. Also the weather was near freezing in the 40's.
Game 13
Apollos 12 River Bandits 0
Mike Wilson threw five innings of shutout ball and Marcos Quinones threw two innings of shutout ball. The Apollos jumped out early with another Chris McCreery home run. Kevin Hall also homered giving him nine homers thus eclipsing Chris Gibson as the all time leader. Mike Wilson, Andrew Dunn and Jeremy Moye had several hits....
Game 12
Apollos 15 Braves 0
The Apollos won facing elimination. Mike Wilson threw a complete game one hit shutout and Chris McCreery hit two home runs. Kevin Hall had three hits. The game was 5-0 until the 6th inning when the Apollos blew it open.
Game 11
Apollos 7 Alpine 6
The Apollos played an exhibition game against many former Apollos who played for Alpine. Chris McCreery also played for Alpine. The Apollos made several errors with Mike Austin pitching and McCreery tied the game with a homer off Alex Dutka. Mike Austin drove in the winning run in the bottom of the 7th with two outs. Both Alpine and the Apollos played very poorly with several errors.

Apollos 20 Skysox 2
Chris McCreery's Grand slam blew the game open at 9-2. Kevin Hall became the Apollos all time home run leader, also Alex Dutka, Mike Wilson homered. Mike Wilson got the win throwing 5 great innings and only allowing 2 home runs as the lone runs...The Apollos survive and will not be eliminated..

Braves 9 Apollos 3
The Braves scored 9 runs on 4 hits and the Apollos left the bases loaded 4 times without scoring any runs.. Chris McCreery hit three balls to the warning track... The Apollos lose game one of double elimination tournament...
Game 8
Bobcats 5 Apollos 4
The Apollos gave up this game at the very end. Dutka and Austin pitched great for the Apollos. The Apollos offense was a little slow with Hall, Quinones and Dutka knocking in the RBIs. The Apollos went into the top of the 8th leading 4-2. Sonny Terrazas pitched to one batter giving up a double. He was replaced by Mike Estrada who gave up another double and a single. The Bobcats scored winning run on dropped ball by Apollos left fielder Andrew Dunn. The Apollos were home and had a chance to score a run to tie. Will Wade almost homered hitting the fence but it would be for not as Marcos Quinones was struck out to end the game. This loss snapped the Apollos 12 game Houston winning streak dating back to the Spring loss to Deer Park Cardinals...
Game 7
Apollos 18 Raiders 1
The Apollos lead the game off with doubles by Andrew Dunn and Will Wade both hit near the fence, then Chris McCreery hit a Grand Slam out of the deepest part of Spring Woods High School. It was quite a
Blast. The Raiders kept the game close for three innings then Apollos scored 11 runs in the top of the 6th. McCreery, Wade and Dunn all hit several balls very hard. Will Wade also homered. Mike Wilson went 5 innings for the win allowing just one run. Mike Estrada and Sonny Terrazas each threw one inning and Terrazas is beginning to get his old form back.
Game 6
Apollos 18 Mets 0
Alex Dutka dominated from the mound with a shutout while striking out 11 guys. He even managed to hit a ball out of the park. The Apollos had tons of offense with every guy getting on base and scoring in the game. 18 runs says it all.
Game 5
Apollos 7 Hurricanes 4
The Apollos received six shutout innings from Mike Wilson as well two singles. He did a great job throwing strikes and using his defense. The defense was lead by great plays by Jeff Murphy who replaced Mike Estrada who was required to sit out the game because the Hurricanes protested his eligibility. Jeff was recalled from AAA after the Apollos found out Estrada would not be eligible. In the first inning the Apollos scored one run then they had the bases loaded and no outs and all three batters were retired. The Apollos score three runs in the 3rd and 7th to put the score at 7-0.
Marcos Quinones and Clifton Siems allowed 4 runs in two innings pitching. In the 8th Alex Dutka came on for the final two outs to record the save.
Game 4
Apollos 12 Skysox 6
The Apollos took advantage of several Skysox errors and were lead by Mo Caesar who went 3-3 with a sacrifice fly, including a ball hit off the left field fence, and a great defensive play made by Mo in the outfield. Andrew Dunn hit an inside the park home run. The Skysox kept it close until the made 5 errors in the game. They had several very hard hit balls. Chris Gibson pitched three innings allowing two earned runs, Alex Dutka pitched four innings allowing two earned runs. Sonny Terrazas pitched the final inning allowing no runs.
Game 3
Apollos 11 Space City A's 2.
The Apollos had a lot of offense with Will Wade hitting a two-run bomb and Mike Estrada and Mike Austin each hitting triples. Kevin Hall and Andrew Dunn both got on base four for four. Mike Wilson took the mound for the Apollos and allowed no runs in 3 innings. Logan pitched the fourth inning allowing two runs. Marcos Quinones closed the final three innings of the game allowing no runs. The Apollos looked good overall.
Game 2
Apollos 13 Bandits 3.
The Apollos jumped out to an early lead before the Bandits came back into contention. Then the Apollos scored 10 in the next inning. Chris Gibson, Mike Wilson, Marcos Quinones and Alex Dutka pitched. Mike Estrada showed some skills catching for the injured Aaron Fielding. Mike Wilson made his Apollo debut going 2-4 with a stolen base and one inning pitched. Alex Dutka also made his Fall pitching debut.

Apollos 16 Braves 3.
(Story written by Sonny Terrazas)The Apollos won their opener at their new park Spring Woods. The apollos started the game slow scoring 2 runs in 5 innings. The apollos ended up scoring 14 runs after the 5th. Mike Estrada, Sonny Terrazas, Marcos Q., and Mike Austin pitched very good games. Sonny pitched a good game comming off his shoulder injury. One of the catchers from the opposing team broke his arm because Dunn didnt want to move off homeplate on a throw to second. Marcos his a 500 ft. DONG. Estrada had a good hitting game with 2 doubles off the wall. If the offense and defense stays the way it was tonight then it will be another good season for the apollos.
